Accounts Receivable Clerk

Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary

Performs all aspects of accounts receivable process, identifies and resolves issues, and assists with general accounting tasks.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Updates job activity through JDE to prepare for billing, communicates with PM’s as needed to verify details.
• Invoices all contract billing jobs in JDE to include lump sums, SOV, service agreements and unit price agreements
• Reviews T&M Workfile for errors and completes appropriate corrections as required
• Completes changes, deletions and Ad Hoc activity to T&M WorkFile
• Invoices all T&M Jobs through JDE
• Tracks outstanding payment issues through resolution
• Conducts account research and analysis
• Makes collection calls and documents results of calls
• Handles accounts receivable inquiries
• Generates aging reports and other accounts receivable analysis reports; identifies critical issues and escalates as appropriate
• Generates, reviews, and mails invoices and statements
• Reconciles accounts receivable to the general ledger
• Prepares and posts journal entries
• Interacts with customers to resolve outstanding issues
• Creates debit/credit memos
• Performs data entry in accounting system

General/Other Responsibilities and Duties

• Assists accounting department with miscellaneous tasks

Job Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years accounts receivable and collections experience
• Familiarity with accounting system; experience working with JD Edwards a plus
• Strong research and resolution skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills; detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and accounting software i.e. Ariba, CAS and JDE.
• Work with Project Managers from satellite offices in other states.
Physical/Travel/Attendance Requirements

• Works in an office environment
• Frequently sits for long periods of time
• Frequently speaks, reads, writes and uses a computer keyboard
• May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
