Job Responsibilities:

PNR RailWorks provides a complete range of track and Signals & Communications construction, rehabilitation and maintenance services and materials to Class 1 railroads, short lines, transit authorities and industrial facilities across Canada. Projects range from industrial spurs and yards, to friend lines, commuter rail and transit lines.

Reporting to the full-time recruiter, this position will be heavily be involved in sourcing candidates from coast to coast on numerous construction projects including a large project in Montreal. Scheduling phone screens and tracking candidates is another large responsibility for this position.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Sourcing and review applicants for unionized hourly positions as well as full time permanent positons
  • Conducting phone screens
  • Support full-time recruiter with
  • Prepares and posts jobs on ATS and external job boards; reviews resumes and applications 
  • Sources applicants and builds candidate pipeline
  • Maintains excellent relationships with candidates
  • Participates in weekly recruitment meeting to review hiring progress and priorities. 
  •  Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
  • 3-10+ years of full life-cycle recruitment experience required
  • Bilingual in French and English required
  • Construction industry and union experience required
  • Experience dealing with high volume recruitment and hard to fill positions
  • Superb offer negotiation and candidate-care skills  
  • Background experience utilizing social media as a tool for networking and sourcing candidates  
  • Previous experience with applicant tracking and reporting systems  
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills  
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint
