Job Responsibilities:

 

This position ensures that the appropriate infrastructure, systems/processes and people are in place to achieve business objectives.  The position will be responsible for creating, entering, maintaining, and monitoring RailWorks data bases. Assisting the General Manager is delivering and meeting required schedules. Work with the operations team to insure project info-structure is set up and working. Monitor required reporting to ensure schedule and accuracy.  Assist Operations employees with Computer Technology, including training, trouble shooting and purchasing.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assists with managing the day to day operations of the division; provides support to General Manager to ensure that all current construction and maintenance projects are being appropriately setup and the current info structure is working properly.
  • Tracks and Monitors strategic plans for the region under the direction of the General Manager.
  • Assists with Customer, vender and supplier problems, works closely with Company admin staff to ensure accurate and timely procedures.
  • Provides superior customer service, maintains positive business relations with all vendors and suppliers, and leverages current customer, vendor and supplier relationships
  • Adheres to all federal state and local regulations
  • General Understanding of Labor laws; public, private and union.
  • Fast learner, decision making skills a must 

Job Qualifications:

  • High School education required, prefer a minimum of 2 years of higher education in the business administrative area.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a general construction office environment.
  • Broad experience in and understanding of the civil and/or railroad construction industry, including federal and state regulations
  • Broad experience working in a standalone construction business and/or division
  • Demonstrated progressive responsibility and advancement that includes a proven track record of successful projects
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Strong decision making skills, ability to multitask efficiently
  • Results-oriented, and  able to work well both independently and successfully as a truly collaborative/contributing team member 
  • Ability to understand the day to day priorities for the division
  • Willingness to embrace and ability to promote the RailWorks values of Safety, Customer Intimacy, Employee Engagement, Project Execution and Integrity
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Mandatory, including Work, excel, PowerPoint
  • The ability to grasp facts, processes, and procedures quickly in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Works in an office environment
