Job Responsibilities:

The Jr. Project Engineer will provide support for projects in various stages of design, estimating and construction as well as assistance to various aspects of field and office activities.


Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Solicits subcontractor/vendor pricing information.
  • Analyzes and evaluates bids from subcontractors for their completeness and accuracy in scope of work.
  • Prepares accurate quantity surveys and take-offs.
  • Reviews estimate/sub quote files to gain information for current bids.
  • Prepares spreadsheets and coordinates with estimating staff for bid day.
  • Assists with coordination of the bidding process and correspondence flow for change orders and modification.
  • Prepares construction contract correspondence for supervisor review
  • Assist in preparation of bid packages
  • Provide documentation quality control on construction projects.
  • Provides basic contract administration support at construction field office. 
  • Assist in the coordination of construction contracts.
  • Prepares construction contract correspondence for supervisor review. 
  • Assist Project Managers with the preparation and maintenance of construction schedules
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of work performed in accordance record keeping procedures
  • Prepare and maintain documentation and document control associated with a project in accordance with policies and procedure.
  • Assist in the preparation of additional work orders
  • Assist with requirements for project close out

 

Job Qualifications:

Required Skills and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • 0-4 years’ experience in construction
  • Ability to prepare change orders, filing and knowledge in establishing and maintaining project records; ability to use applicable software and record keeping methods
  • Must have excellent PC skills in MS Office.
  • Experience with estimating software and P6 is preferred.
